Setup for AutoDialing via a modem

I'm trying to figure out how to get the Calls & Research function to work for me so I can make and record calls. When I click on the phone number it comes back with a message "You must set the auto dialing information via Preferences". I did everything except put in a COM port as I don't know what com port to use. In windows 7, the internet modem's driver was automatically loaded. I looked at the System file and see it's on interrupt 15 but no-where does it state what com port. So, where DSM asks for Com Port in Preferences, what do I tell it?

Dell - you lost me. A love story gone wrong...

If you live in Austin, Texas like I do and are an unrepentant geekologist like I am, then Dell is the 800lb gorilla in every room, street, neighborhood, community, city, county and (in the case of Tejas) redneck, evolution-fearing state. It's a big'un, no doubt. So it isn't exactly rocket surgery to figure out that almost all of our computers bear the Dell logo. And they should - good products, well supported, and good value means happy campers. So when it came time to buy a new laptop, Dell had me at 'Hello'.

And that's when the trouble started.

CRM Dashboard Micro Chart is coming very, very soon...

It is kind of cool when eye candy and functionality come together. It happens. No, really, it does. case in point:

Rating Micro Charts for deals and contacts

Desktop Sales Office v11.08 has micro charts that show your deals or contacts as a micro pie chart:

CRM software deal ratings

It is a heads-up display that helps you manage your pipeline, based upon the rating of each deal.

Rating Chart

Rating is your assessment of how "good" or valuable a deal is, where the rating ranges between 0 / low and 5 / high. For sales professionals, rating is a business assessment that is pretty important. While you can use your own system, a typical rating scale might be:

Printing and Reporting

Printing and reporting provide hard copy access to contacts, deals, and appointments.

Scope: One, Selected, Visible, Or All

Often you just want information printed for a deal or contact. Other times you might want to print a call list of your most recent contacts or a list of your highest rated deals. You might need a complete printout of all your appointments. In each of these situations, the scope varies - a single item, a selected list of items, or all items.
